Install
To install BlogoText, you need :
- A Web host with PHP 4.1 (or better)
- An unzip software
- A FTP software to upload Blogotext on your host
1. Uncompress the blogotext.zip file
Free unzip softwares :
After downloading, uncompress the blogotext.zip file with your unzip software.
You will get a blogotext folder appearing onto your desktop (if this is your default destination).
NB : If the blogotext folder appear directly on your desktop, uncompressing is not necessary
your system already did it (Mac OS 10.4).
2. Upload the folder on your Web host
Free FTP clients :
With your FTP client :
1. Connect to your Web host with your codes :
- FTP adress
- Username
- Password
Those informations are given by your Web host.
2. Upload the blogotext folder on your desktop and sent it on your host.
Wait until all files are uploaded before the next step.
Left side : your desktop. Right side : your web host.
NB : you can rename the blogotext folder, or even upload the files in the parent directory.
3. Configure yout blog
With your Internet browser, go to your blog adress. For exemple : http://my_host/blogotext/
1. Choose your language.
2. Choose a username and a password. Your password must be at least 6 characters long.
3. Give the adress (URL) of your blog, with the slash "/" at the end. In this exemple : http://my_host/blogotext/.
That's all ! You are now ready to blog. Don't forget to go in the perferences pane to personalize your blog.
Backing-up your blog
Don't forget to back-up your blog on your hard drive (via FTP).
